Name: Bruce Reihana
Age:30
Club: Northampton Saints
Position: Full-back
Q: How do you stay fit and healthy? A: I have a healthy diet, have lots of rest and then when I do train, I push myself to the extreme and do a lot of extra training sessions in areas I need to improve on.
Q: As a young player, what should you concentrate on most – tackling or passing?
A: I think you should concentrate on all areas of your game. The best thing for a young player is just to be confident and to give everything a go to the best of your ability, and to have a smile on your face! It’s all about having fun.
Q: Which position is the most important on the field?
A: No 10 because that player is the decision maker for the team. He calls the moves and points the team in the right direction.
Q: Who is the best player you have every played with or against?
A: Tana Umaga. I was the player I looked up to when I was young.
Q: If you could play any other position, what would it be?
A: I have played in most positions in the Saints back-line: full-back, wing, outside centre and fly-half, so I guess it would have to be No 12!
Q: How do you prepare for a big game?
A: I do my recovery from training sessions very well and I am 100 per cent certain about our game plan and preparation. I do plenty of stretching too.
Q: What is your greatest rugby achievement? A: Making the All Blacks
Q: If you had not become a professional rugby player, what would you have been? A: I would have loved to have been a professional golfer!
Q: What is your greatest achievement? A: Outside rugby, my two sons.
Q: What are your unfulfilled ambitions?
A: To lift a trophy for Northampton Saints.
Q: You’ve been at Northampton Saints for five years, how do you rate the current squad?
A: In a nutshell, untouched ability. If we get everything right and play to our potential, we can win trophies and beat any team.
Q: What do you like most about being a rugby player? And what do you dislike?
A: I just love the fact that sport is my job. It is a dream come true and I always feel like I am a very lucky man every time I drive into work. And to be honest, I don’t dislike anything!
